AMAZONAS · BRAZIL

The jungle that is not seen is experienced

These corporate experiences in the Amazon are not discovered by simply following an itinerary: they are organized as encounters with the river, the jungle, and those who inhabit it. Manaus is the gateway to the largest tropical rainforest on the planet. Those who cross it never measure the scale of things the same way again. As a DMC in the Amazon, ANDINA by Rixner designs incentive trips and corporate events based in Manaus.

RIVER · JUNGLE · FAUNA

The territory where water rules

The Amazon cannot be explained; it is explored by motorized canoe, at dawn or at night, with guides who know every channel. The river defines the schedules, the distances, and even the way of looking at the jungle: from the water, everything changes scale.

— Meeting of the waters

The Negro and the Solimões run side by side for more than six kilometers without mixing: black waters and mud-colored waters, separated by temperature and density. One of Brazil's most surprising natural phenomena, seen from very close up.

— Pink boots

Pink Amazon river dolphins, curious and sociable, on a floating platform in the middle of the river. They are observed up close or swum with, under protocols authorized by Brazil's environmental institutions.

— Caimans at night

Sunset canoe trip. The caiman's eyes glow like red dots in the guide's flashlight beam, who catches it by hand to explain the species before releasing it back into the river.

JUNGLE · HIKE · LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

What the jungle teaches those who listen to it

The walk through the Ecopark is not an excursion, it is a survival lesson told by those who live it. Orchids, centuries-old trees, drinking water, edible fruits, medicinal plants: everything has a name and a use.

— Jungle Walk

Trails among giant trees, crystal-clear streams, and natural savannas. Experienced guides teach how to navigate the jungle and recognize what it provides.

— MUSA Tower

242 steps to the treetops in the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve. At dawn, the mist clears and the birds appear. A landmark observation point for INPA scientists for 60 years.

Piranha fishing

Amateur fishing with a simple rod, in a calm canal or from a floating raft. One hour of river, a story to tell.

MANAOS · HISTORY · CITY

The city that rubber built in the middle of the jungle

Manaus was, during the rubber boom, the richest city in South America: they called it the Paris of the Tropics. That memory still stands in its buildings, its markets, and its theater, right in the heart of the Amazon.

— Amazon Theatre

The symbol of Belle Époque Manaus. Materials imported from Europe, an enameled ceramic dome, and an interior that still impresses anyone who walks through it.

— Fish market

More than 200 Amazonian species for sale every morning. The pirarucu, one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, appears there.

— Banana market

Exotic fruits that cannot be found anywhere else, on the scale and variety that only the largest rainforest on the planet can offer.

COMMUNITIES · CULTURE · ENCOUNTER

Who inhabits the river
they have something to tell

The Amazon is also its people: the caboclos, river mestizos, and indigenous communities that preserve their traditions. Two different ways of reading the same territory, both essential to understanding it.

— Casa Caboclo

A riverside house where cassava flour is produced, medicinal plants are discovered, and life stories are heard between two rivers.

— Indigenous Village

Reception of the chief, ritual dances to the sound of traditional instruments, tales of ancestral hunting and fishing, and crafts that sustain the community's economy.

— Forest of the Monkeys

Wildlife rehabilitation center five minutes away by canoe. Assisted feeding, twice a day, with authorized observation.
